Fk Lightplanes News

What a whirl wind of events which have taken place within 5 months! Two major air shows, many other flyins and a grand opening! FK Light Planes USA is off to a fast start and appreciates the enthusiastic interest and support from everyone we have had the opportunity to meet at these past events!

Looking ahead: We will be at Oshkosh this season, and will be at both the LSA mall and ultralight areas. To those who are interested and missed the Sebring Expo and Sun n’ Fun, here is  your chance to personally meet the FK Light Planes USA team, find out the latest information and fly in the Fk 9 Mk IV.  More photos of the events can be found on the gallery section of the site here.

In other news about the Fk 9 Mk IV, at both Sebring and Lakeland shows there generated a buzz about the Meceredes Benz M160 “Smart” engine. It is a very promising power plant offering all the power and reliability of the venerable Rotax 912 series, with savings not only on fuel efficiency but on the option price tag as well. However at the present time it is still going through the certifications to meet the LSA consensus, so keep your eye on this engine for the very near future. Below are some photos and you can visit the web site here.

Along with a new power plant, there have been several new features added to the FK 9 Mk IV. The new short wing allows for greater handling in both turbulence and cross wind capabilities, not only was it shortened, moreover its angle of incidence has been increased to allow for greater forward visibility as well as increased performance in take off and landing. The Fk 9’s interior has a new option as well; new two tone color scheme with leather trim; distinctly enhance the Fk9’s interior. The panel has an option for the Avmap to be mounted flush along with options for the Dynon systems. The photos below speak far better than I could describe!

Recently a majority of our efforts have been focused on the development of the FK LightplanesUSA web site and promotion of the FK 9 Mk IV at air shows. However our concentrated efforts for 12 years have been with Wing of Paradise. for then ultralight maintained and support with Ultralight Adventures for primary flight training. It has been a natural progression into the Light Sport category and wouldn’t offer an aircraft without utmost in service, support and Light sport training. So stay tuned!

On other news, we’ve all heard about Dan Johnson’s injuries and we wish him a speedy recovery into the air!
